What happens when you remove your account?

Fruitask provides the option to delete your account from our databases in case you no longer wish to use our platform. Upon clicking "Delete Account," you will be prompted to confirm your decision.

We recommend:

1. Create a back up or export your data: When you choose to delete your account, please note that it will also result in the removal of associated data, including workplace and resource assets. It is therefore advised that you create a backup of it beforehand by exporting your data in CSV, JSON, or Google Drive format.


2. Inform your team: If you are collaborating with a team, it is important to inform them about your decision to delete your account. This is to ensure they are aware that your account will no longer be active, which may impact their user experience. Additionally, any assignments or mentions involving you as a collaborator in tasks will no longer function as intended.


Feel free to communicate with your team by utilizing Fruitask's messaging feature or any other communication channels available to keep your team informed.


3. Transfer ownership: If you do not wish to delete your workplace or have a specific reason to export it, but still want someone else to assume ownership, you have the option to easily transfer ownership. This allows another user to take over the responsibilities associated with the workplace.

Deletion Schedule

Once you confirm the deletion of your account, it will be marked as a "DELETED" state in our database. After this point, you will no longer be able to log in to your account. The permanent removal of all associated data is initiated by our cron jobs task, which typically takes approximately 3-5 hours to complete and propagate throughout our systems.

How to back up or export your data?

Answer: To back up or export your data, access the preferred workspace and select the "Export" button situated above. Subsequently, you will be presented with three choices (such as CSV, JSON, or Google Drive) for the format in which you wish to export your data.

How can the ownership of the workplace be transferred?

Answer: To transfer ownership, navigate to the desired workspace and click the "More" button located above. Next, select the "Transfer Ownership" icon, and enter the new owner's email along with the last four digits of the New Owner API, which can be found in the 'My Account' section.

Can I recover my deleted account?

Answer: To facilitate the recovery process before your account is permanently deleted by our cron job task, you can seek assistance from a co-collaborator within the workplace who can message us on your behalf. Here are the steps for account recovery:


1. When a message is received from a co-collaborator, we will send a recovery email to the associated email address on your account.


2. Upon receiving the recovery email, click on the provided Recovery Link, which will redirect you to a page where you can set a new password for your account. It is essential to complete this step promptly.


3. Once you have set and confirmed your new password, you will regain access to your account and be able to enjoy your data once again.

Please note that it is crucial to initiate the recovery process promptly to ensure successful account restoration before the permanent deletion occurs.
